Case Study: ABV Levels Alcoholic Drinks

Alcoholic Drinks

Our client, a supplier of alcoholic drinks used NutriCalc to calculate the nutrition values ‘per 100ml’ for their beverage.

However, even having entered the correct specific gravity for the product, the alcohol value they obtained was 13.7 and didn’t correspond to the expected target ABV value of 17.

We were able to advise the manufacturer that, what they had generated was in fact alcohol by weight and in order to achieve the correct ABV, they needed to divide by the specific gravity of alcohol (0.789).

That meant that the alcohol level was now expressed as ‘ml per 100ml’, or ABV and our client was happy that they had achieved the correct ABV level.
